Claudia is a member of many baking associations including International Cake Exploration Society, River City Confectioners Association, Retail Bakers of America, and Upper Midwest Bakery Association. She and her staff have won numerous awards at competitions held by these associations over the years. The Sugar Shack Bakery was previously named one of the Top Ten Bakeries in Iowa, was featured in The Knot magazine, and represented Iowa in Food Network Magazines On The Road series “Sugar Cookie USA”. This year, Claudia adds Sweetest Bakery in Iowa from the nationwide Sweetest Bakery in America competition, the 2018 Weekender’s Siouxland’s Choice Award, and Judge’s Choice at Baconfest 2018 to her list of accomplishments.
Claudia has 18 years of experience under her belt but it’s not all work and no play. Claudia and her staff have gotten to meet and work with quite the list of celebrity bakers and decorators over the years including Marina Sousa, Norman Davis, Zane Beg, Mike Elder, Duff Goldman, and Bronwen Weber.
